You’ll Love This Rooftop Restaurant In Hawaii That’s Beyond Gorgeous

Buho Cucina Y Cantina in Waikiki offers a unique rooftop dining experience with locally sourced Mexican cuisine and stunning views.

With beautiful weather and average temperatures hovering between 73 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit year round, there is no better place than America’s youngest state to enjoy dining al fresco. From stunning beachfront restaurants where you can dip your toes in the sand to eateries with epic patios, the Hawaiian Islands are home to countless incredible outdoor dining options, though we might argue that better than enjoying an oceanfront dinner, is rooftop dining. While there are a few rooftop restaurants to choose from across the state, one of our favorites can be found right in the heart of Waikiki, accessed via an elevator on Kalakaua Avenue.

This is Buho Cucina Y Cantina, an eclectic Mexican joint known for their locally sourced ingredients, Taco Tuesday offerings, and incredible rooftop location.

With a funky vibe and casually elegant decor, Buho’s atmosphere - and awe-inspiring rooftop locale - can’t be beat.

Visit during the day for incredible views of Honolulu, in the evenings for magnificent sunset views, or late night for live music, daily from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.

You’ll find more than stellar views here: the atmosphere is inviting yet hip, and the food is comforting yet innovative.

Buho serves up everything from enchiladas, burritos, tacos, and quesadillas to loco moco and a mexican cheeseburger.

Utilizing locally-sourced poblanos, tomatillos, cilantro and lime mix, Buho Cucina Y Cantina is all about reinventing classic Mexican cuisine with a Hawaiian twist.

While you can’t go wrong with chips, guacamole, and tacos, the drinks served up by Buho mixologists are second to none: with signature cocktails as well as an impressive array of wine, beer, liquors, and of course, tequila, you’ll surely find your new favorite happy hour spot.

The Mexican eatery markets itself as being: "inspiration meets tradition where Waikiki meets the sky," and we have to agree 100 percent.
