The Most Magnificent Macaroni And Cheese Is Hiding In Small Town Georgia

Cowboys and Angels in Helen, Georgia, serves some of the best macaroni and cheese in the state, with a unique Bavarian village atmosphere.

Macaroni and cheese is a pretty universally beloved food. It's so delicious that it's wonderful whether you're eating at a three-star Michelin restaurant or enjoying a throwback to childhood with a meal from Kraft's famous blue box. If you're looking for macaroni and cheese in Georgia, you can certainly find plenty of excellent examples of it at restaurants around the state: it's found at pretty much any one of the many eateries serving up American food. One of our favorite spots to get it at is in the small town of Helen at the rustic Cowboys and Angels. This low-key place serves up incredible burgers and sandwiches, but the mac and cheese is to die for!

Helen is something of a fairy tale town. The entire downtown area is styled like a Bavarian village that will make you feel like you were transported to Germany. Cowboys and Angels is right in the thick of it all and will temporarily give you a feeling of being in a Western bar.

There's a great bar here if you'd like to enjoy some of the many beers and cocktails on tap - you'll even find dessert martinis on the menu.

The pet-friendly patio is perfect for people-watching.

There's plenty of amazing burgers, sandwiches, and salads on the menu, plus steaks and seafood that are definitely worth indulging in.

However, you'll find that the macaroni and cheese is to die for. This made from scratch, ooey-gooey Gouda-filled dish is some of the tastiest mac and cheese in Georgia.

Looking to shake it up a little? Try the Cajun shrimp mac. It's topped with shrimp, andouille sausage, scallions, onion, and sweet peppers.

Chorizo chili mac and cheese is occasionally on the menu as a special, and you do not want to miss it either.

Whether you get it as a side...

...or as a topping on a delicious burger, this is some of the best macaroni and cheese in Georgia and this place is worth a visit.
