Most folks associate Dickson Street in Fayetteville as the street for nightlife. Although Dickson is a state favorite for pubs and breweries, the main drag isn't lacking in family-friendly eateries. If you're done with the barhopping scene, don't be discouraged from visiting Dickson for an endless variety of restaurants. Let's take a stroll to see what the current choices are on Dickson.
(Note: For today's article we've focused on local restaurants instead of chains and bars. Some other choices that are available on Dickson are: Quiznos, Waffle House, Jimmy Johns, Chipotle, Taco Bell Cantina, and Pickleman’s Gormet Cafe.)
1. The Flying Burrito - Tex-Mex
The Flying Burrito originally opened in 2003 by U of A grads, Archie Schaffer and Mike Rohrbach. The build-your-own burrito joint has really taken off since they now have five locations. Bring your appetite and conquer a MOAB, the huge Mother Of All Burritos.
The Flying Burrito is at 540 W. Dickson. Their hours are Sun-Thur: 11 AM - 10 PM, Fri-Sat: 11 AM - 3 AM.
2. Toyko Sushi & Bar - Japanese
This cozy little sushi shop offers mouthwatering creations for any craving, including vegan options. Service is unbelievably fast which makes it the perfect stop to fill up before watching a play at the Walton Arts Center. If you can dedicate more time than just a roll and go, then definitely order one of their bento boxes.
Toyko Sushi & Bar is at 522 W. Dickson. Their hours are Mon-Sun: 11 AM - 4 PM, 4 PM - 9:30 PM (they're open until 10:30 PM on Fri/Sat).
3. Hog Haus Brewing Company - American
Please note, Hog Haus Brewing Company has permanently closed.
Don't dismiss Hog Haus as just another bar. Although they do pride themselves for being the only operating brewery in the NWA area, they also offer a full menu. Join them for a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast or upgraded pub grub later in the day. We're stuck on their Habanero Tear Jerker wings.
Hog Haus Brewing Company is at 430 W. Dickson. Their hours are Mon-Sun 9 AM - 10 PM (they're open until 11 PM on Fri/Sat).
4. Los Bobos Taqueria - Mexican
Bobos does cater to the late night munchies but don't hesitate to join them earlier in the evening as well. Their street tacos are downright divine and their wide variety of salsas will perfectly top their tortas.
Los Bobos Taqueria is at 404 W. Dickson. Their hours are Thur - Sat 6 PM - 3 AM.
5. Shulertown Food Truck Court - Variety
Please note, Shulertown Food Truck Court has permanently closed.
We have to give a shout out to Dickson's food truck court, Shulertown. If you haven't quite made up your mind on what to eat, the food truck court will eliminate the need to stroll the whole street. Expect to see Burton’s Creamery (the only super premium soft-serve ice cream offered in town), Blazin Asian Munchies (Chinese), Belly Up (Carnivorific), and Wicked Wood Fired Pizzas (voted best food truck in NWA).
For more information, visit the Shulertown Facebook Page right here.
6. JJ's Grill - American
The sports bar and grill now has eight locations throughout the state. Try one of their daily specials or peruse the full menu of sandwiches, burgers, taco, and dinner options. We're always craving their breakfast burger (pictured).
JJ's Grill is at 324 W. Dickson. Their dining hours are Mon-Sat 11AM – 12AM.
7. Doe's Eat Place - American
Okay so technically Doe's isn't a local eatery, but it's fair to say that we Arkansans have adopted the steakhouse as one of our own. The overwhelmingly generous portions will quickly have you forgetting that they originally opened in Mississippi.
Doe's Eat Place is at 316 W. Dickson. Their hours are Mon-Sat 5 PM - 9 PM.
8. Wasabi - Japanese
On the other end of the street is another delicious sushi place, Wasabi. Pictured are their Eddy, Rock n'Roll, and Mango Crunch rolls. Feel free to voice your thoughts in the comments but we prefer Wasabi for their rolls and Toyko Sushi for their bento boxes.
Wasabi is located at 313 W. Dickson. Their hours are Mon-Sun 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM (they're open until 11 PM on Fri/Sat).
9. Bordino's - Italian
If you're celebrating a special occasion, Bordino's is the perfect choice. They have a delectable selection of refined Italian dishes, including swordfish (pictured). Bring your party in for dinner or join them for a weekend brunch.

10. Emelia's Kitchen - Mediterranean
Dickson adds to its variety yet again with the Mediterranean delicacies offered by Emelia's Kitchen. Pictured is the barramundi topped with a house-made mango salsa. Emelia's is our favorite Dickson spot for atmosphere, it's relaxed yet sophisticated.
