Come for the food, stay for the community. Fred’s Market Restaurant in Florida is a delicious buffet-style spot where food and friends combine.
With a motto of serving local food to local folks, there are three Fred’s restaurants in Florida to explore - Lakeland, Plant City, and Riverview.
What began as a gas station with family-focused meals in 1954 soon expanded to a full-on restaurant, serving home-cooked food with a side of Southern comfort.
There are three tables to peruse at this delightful buffet - the MarketTable™, SaladTable, and DessertTable.
Picture all of your favorite Southern dishes in one spot - fried chicken, smoked pork ribs, fried catfish, collard greens, Mac and cheese, sweet potato, and so much more.
The dessert table comes with a few favorites as well, from the banana pudding topped with Nilla wafers to the homemade pecan pie and famous Strawberry Shortcake.
There are also daily species to consider planning a whole trip around - like Tuesdays, which feature Mom’s Meat Loaf and chicken and dumplings. Or Thursday with turkey & dressing and country-fried steak.
There’s even a breakfast buffet, which is the perfect way to start a weekend morning, filled with eggs, pancakes, and hash browns.
Or you can even load up a plate and go with Fred’s Market Restaurant take-out!
But if you really want the full home-cooked, country-style experience, we recommend visiting Fred’s Market Restaurant to feast inside with the locals.

I absolutely love dining at buffets. There is something about having a wide variety of options that is so satisfying, especially when it comes to comfort food classics. Speaking of comfort food, Yoder's in Sarasota, Florida is a local landmark and you have to see the plates served up here.
