The 2015 Urban Mobility Scorecard, created by Texas A&M University with the data collection agency INRIX, ranked 471 metropolitan areas in the U.S. to determine how much traffic congestion cost us in both time and gas money in 2014. Here are Florida’s worst ranking cities:
In 2014, each commuter spent a whopping 52 hours in traffic and spent about an extra $1,169 for that time. This earned Miami the spot at number one.
Drivers in this city popular with tourists have plenty of experience with traffic, as well. They each spent about 46 hours in traffic in 2014 and spent about $1,044 to pay for it.

Folks in this metropolitan area spent $907 in 2014 to spend an average of 41 extra hours stuck in traffic.

Jacksonville drivers spent 38 extra hours trapped in traffic, for a total of $842 for the year. Can you believe it costs so much to do something so crappy?
Commuters in Cape Coral paid $669 to spend 30 hours sitting in traffic in 2014. At least gas prices have seem to have fallen since then.
The good folks of this metropolitan area had to spend 26 hours in traffic, with a price tag of around $589 for the year.
