Several things probably come to mind as 'quintessential Vermont'. But one of those things must be maple syrup. Is there a Vermonter that doesn't enjoy our sweet and delectable 100% pure Vermont maple syrup? I certainly haven't met one. Vermont produces around two million gallons of maple syrup per year, which amounts to slightly less than half of all maple syrup produced in the U.S. So, what better way to celebrate our state's love of this sweet and delicious product than attending the annual Vermont Maple Festival in St. Albans this April!
This year St. Albans is hosting the 54th Vermont Maple Festival, which kicks off on April 24th and ends on Sunday the 26th.
One of the main attractions at the event is the parade, which will be held on Sunday the 26th at noon.
There will be plenty of maple goodies at the festival. Make sure to try the famous maple sugar candies.
The Maple Festival Store offers many delicious maple products throughout the event.
On April 25th there are three time slots for a chance to take a tour of the Sugarhouse. The times of the tours are 10:30, 2:30, and 4:30 respectively.
Even if cold weather happens to grace this year's event, maple creemees are just too good to pass up. They are sold at the Maple Store food truck.

Make sure to sample some fresh maple syrup straight from the boiler.

Taking a tour of the Sugarhouse is a must for anyone interested in the production of maple syrup.
