Sunday afternoon might just be the best part of the week. It's not quite time for that panic of "I have to get ready for work tomorrow!" and you've probably got some of your most heinous weekend chores completed by then. So, how is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Utah? Here are a few suggestions.
1. Feed the elk.
Visit Hardware Ranch and go on a hayride to feed the 600 or so elk that call the ranch home every winter. Open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Sunday. MM 22 SR-101, Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Hyrum.
2. Take the driving tour through the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge.
The 12-mile auto tour loop is open every day of the year, from sunrise to sundown. Sunday is a quiet day to visit, and you're sure to see some beautiful feathered friends.
3. Wander the aisles at IKEA.
I'd rather scrub grout in my bathroom than go to IKEA on a Saturday (or a Tuesday, when kids eat free in the restaurant and every toddler in three counties is there). But on Sunday, it's pure bliss. Wander through IKEA's isles, dreaming of that new bedroom or kitchen. Or, just head straight for the restaurant for some Swedish meatballs.
4. Hang out at the Park Silly Sunday Market.
From June through September, head to Park City's Main Street for the Park Silly Sunday Market. You'll find fresh produce, local crafts and plenty of entertainment.
5. Visit the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium.
The aquarium is open seven days a week. Walk through the 40-foot shark tunnel, see the otters frolic and play, and watch the penguins have a snack at 4:00 p.m. Visit on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 12033 S. Lone Peak Pkwy., Draper.
6. Say hello to some of Utah's oldest residents.
The George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park is closed on Sundays in the winter, but you can visit on Sunday afternoons starting in April. The dinos got facelifts last spring, so they're ready for more visitors. 1544 Park Blvd., Ogden.
7. Talk to the animals at Hogle Zoo.
The zoo is open to the public every day except Christmas and New Year's Day. Bundle up in the winter and visit from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; in the summer, the zoo stays open until 6:00 p.m.
8. Enjoy brunch at Sundance's Foundry Grill.

9. Take a scenic drive.

10. Bring back Sunday dinner.
Remember when Sunday dinner was a thing? Bring it back! Invite Grandma and Grandpa over, eat some tasty food and play family games.
11. Take a hike.
Some folks go after church; others feel like Utah's outdoors is their cathedral. Regardless, you can't go wrong communing with nature on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
12. Watch a game.
Sunday afternoons were made for baseball, right? The Salt Lake Bees first Sunday home game in 2017 is April 16th. Check out the Orem Owlz and Ogden Raptors, too. Of course, in the meantime, we're sure you can find some kind of sports to watch on television.
12. Visit your favorite state park.

14. Take a nap.
Whether you curl up on the couch, or take a siesta after your lunch in Utah's Great Outdoors, there's just nothing like a Sunday afternoon nap.
