Utah is known for gorgeous winters with lots of snow — particularly up in the mountains. While you can always go on a winter hike or even a scenic drive throughout the Beehive State to capture views of the stunning winter landscapes, maybe it’s time to consider a new perspective. Aerial tram rides at Snowbird Ski Resort will give you enchanting winter views from high above. It is just one way to enjoy the winter weather and the beauty of this time of year in the Beehive State.
Snowbird Ski Resort is located in Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains. This popular ski resort is a paradise for winter enthusiasts with more than 2,500 acres and 3,000 vertical feet for skiing and snowboarding.
While you can certainly strap on a pair of skis or a snowboard, one of the best winter activities at Snowbird is the scenic Aerial Tram. This tram is no stranger to the mountain and first opened in 1971.
Your ride will take you approximately 10 minutes one way and you will travel more than 2,900 vertical feet.
Along this scenic ride, sit back and enjoy the mountain landscapes. You’ll have views of the snow-covered Wasatch Mountains and the Salt Lake Valley.
You will travel along a 1.6-mile cable to the top of Hidden Peak. Here, you will find Snowbird’s tasty restaurant, The Summit. This restaurant sits at 11,000 feet and offers some of the most spectacular views of Utah's mountains.
You will need to purchase your tickets for the Snowbird Aerial Tram in Utah in advance. Tickets are per person and peak days and holidays cost more per ticket.
Who knows … this may become your favorite way to enjoy the winter in Utah.
