For An End-Of-Season Adventure, Take The Raft & Rails Trip With Utah’s Heber Valley Railroad
Heber Valley Railroad offers a Raft 'n Rails trip in collaboration with High Country Adventures, combining scenic train rides and whitewater rafting through the end of September.
You might be excited about fall, but the reality in Utah is that we often experience temperatures in the 80s throughout September. That's ok - it just means that we have more time for a rafting trip! If you've been wondering, "what are some seasonal train rides near me in Utah," then you're in luck! Heber Valley Railroad teams up with High Country Adventures for a Raft 'n Rails trip that's offered all the way through the end of September.
For a fun family adventure before the weather gets cold, book a Raft 'n Rails trip with Heber Valley Railroad.
Address: 450 South 6th West, Heber City, UT 84032
This special trip is offered every day, Tuesday through Saturday, until September 27, 2019. The train leaves the station right at 11 a.m., so make sure you're on time.
Sit back and enjoy a scenic train ride that takes you through beautiful, pastoral fields....
...past Soldier Hollow, and along the banks of Deer Creek Reservoir. During your train ride, you'll enjoy a delicious boxed lunch, which is included in the price of your ticket.
Then you'll head down Provo Canyon, home of the mighty Provo River, which is one of the best spots in northern Utah to go whitewater rafting.
At the Provo River put-in, the train will come to a stop, and you'll hop off for the next part of your adventure.
The folks from High Country Adventure will be waiting with the rafts that will take you downriver on a wild ride.
Make sure that you have plenty of sunscreen and that you're wearing clothes that can get wet. The adventure company has life jackets for you, and they'll get you all geared up before you hit the water.
The trip down river is six miles long, and it's suitable for every member of the family. You'll go through some Class I and Class II rapids, but nothing too crazy. The guides will make sure that you stay safe during the entire trip.
Once you get to Vivian Park, you'll hop out, and a shuttle bus will take you back to the parking lot at the train depot. You'll return to your car around 2:30 p.m.
