Top Pride Festivals Across the U.S. to Celebrate Pride Month

We've put together some of the biggest and best Pride Festivals and parades this month, so get out there to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community.

June is the kickoff to summer when the weather gets increasingly warm and festivities bring everyone outside! It's also Pride Month, 30 days of recognizing and celebrating the LGBTQ community. Since 1970, Pride Festivals have celebrated acceptance and love within and for the queer community. Whether you're a part of the LGBTQ community or an ally, you've most likely been to a Pride festival somewhere in the U.S.

We have put together some of the biggest and best Pride festivals and parades in the USA this June, so get out there to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ friends!

1. NYC Pride, New York City

NYC Pride was the first, and today it is one of the largest marches in support of the civil rights of the LGBTQ community. So, how did it all begin? On June 28, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village. The police attempted to arrest those inside and, instead of fleeing the scene like with past riots like this, the patrons and employees held their ground in protest in what became known as The Stonewall Riots—it lasted six days. This unprecedented event was the turning point for the community and its movement for rights and acceptance. This is how Pride began, one year later on June 28, 1970, marking the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

For 2026, NYC Pride Sunday, June 28, 2026, kicking off at 12 p.m. at 26th Street and 5th Avenue with the 57th annual Pride March, followed by PrideFest, the latter of which is the largest of its kind in the world. For younger folks, Youth Pride is NYC’s leading event for LGBTQIA+ youth and features live performances, free snacks and beverages, carnival installations, affirming activities and resources, and more. 2. Boston Pride for the People

There's no denying how much pride residents of Boston have for the city itself, but there's also a lot of pride for its people, including the LGBTQ community. For 2026, Boston Pride for the People happened June 6; however, be sure and check out the website for events happening all throughout Pride Month in Boston!

Not only does Boston Pride for the People pay tribute to the Stonewall Riots of 1969 but empowers and celebrates the diversity and creativity of the LGBTQ community while advocating for inclusion. Not only is this is a fun event but an important one for the city of Boston with an expected turnout of over 1 million festival goers.

3. Motor City Pride, Detroit

Motor City Pride is the largest pride celebration in the state of Michigan dating back to 1972. This festival typically seeing over 65,000 attendees, and Pride 2026 happens June 6-7 at Hart Plaza in Detroit. Other must-attend pride celebrations in Metro Detroit include Ferndale Pride (May 30, 2026) and Pride Royal Oak (July 25, 2026).

During the festival weekend, you can enjoy music and entertainment from members of the LGBTQ community. Tickets for the event are only $5.99, and you can purchase tickets online in advance.

4. Chicago Pride Fest

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Chicago Pride Fest in Northalsted, the largest LGBTQ neighborhood in the Midwest. Throughout the two-day festival, attendees can enjoy festivities like drag shows, live music, choir and dance performances, the Pride Pet Parade complete with prizes, food and merchandise vendors, and guest speakers. This year's Chicago Pride Fest is on June 20-21, 2026, held the weekend before the Chicago Pride Parade (Sunday, June 28, 2026).

5. Twin Cities Pride Festival, Minneapolis

One of the largest celebrations in the country, and the second largest in Minnesota, the Twin Cities Pride Festival has a mission "to empower every LGBTQ+ person to live as their true self." With that beautiful sentiment, over 600,000 allies and members of the LGBTQ community attend this free Pride festival annually.

Held on June 27-28, 2026, the Twin Cities Pride Festival offers entertainment across three stages, hundreds of BIPOC, BIPOC LGBTQ, or LGBTQ owned or operated small business vendors, two beer gardens, and four food courts throughout Loring Park. 6. San Francisco Pride

June 27-28, 2026, are the dates you'll want to be in San Francisco for the 56th Annual Pride Celebration which will take place at the Civic Center. During the San Francisco Pride you'll find a street fair with over 300 LGBTQ+ artists and exhibits, live music, and more. The Pride Parade is scheduled for June 28 at 10:30 a.m., and it begins at Embarcadero Plaza on Market Street and ends at Market and 9th. 7. Denver Pride

Denver Pride first started in 1974 as a smaller event compared to what it is today. Over the years, it has grown in popularity with over 500,000 festival goers annually. While there are pride events slated across Denver all throughout the month of June, you'll want to mark your calendar for Sunday, June 28, which is when the 2026 Denver Pridefest and parade occur. This is one of the best Pride festivals in the country and it raises money for The Center on Colfax, a non-profit providing programs and services to the LGBTQ+ community.

8. San Antonio Pride

In 2004, Gay Pride SA was the first iteration of what is now San Antonio Pride and and in 2026, San Antonio Pride Festival is set for June 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Crockett Park.

Over the course of this celebratory Pride event, guests can enjoy food, entertainment, wrestling, a health fair, entertainment, performances, and local vendors.

In addition to showing your support of the LGBTQIA+ community at one the above big-city pride festivals across the U.S., definitely check your town's website because there are lots of small-town pride festivals and events happening in every state!
