Mount Marty College was established in 1936 and its campus is absolutely beautiful.
The students of this Roman Catholic Benedictine Liberal Arts College love everything about their school...but there are some dark stories of hauntings here.
The school has a haunted history going back to its construction.
While building Bede Hall, one worker fell to his death. He's said to still haunt the building. Staff often hears footsteps at night, and people see shadows that can't be explained. Some think that while the man's ghost is definitely roaming the building, he means no harm.
A young, restless male ghost is said to wander Whitby Hall.
Residents say that they've heard moaning sounds in the hallways. Some even claim to have seen a young man who appears in their room...only to vanish into thin air. It's thought that he was a former student who committed suicide. Other dorm buildings are also reportedly haunted by young men who have hung or shot themselves over the years.
Some students say that they've seen apparitions in the library.
