CAV Restaurant is located at 14 Imperial Place in Providence, where it has remained since its 1989 opening.
The historic brick building's exterior gives a subtle hint to what's inside.
When you step inside and see the space for the first time, it's almost impossible not to gasp.
The dining room is decked out in antiques, art, artifacts, and elegant chandeliers that make it all sparkle.
The eatery was opened by Sylvia Moubayed, who wanted to create a restorative, one-of-a-kind atmosphere and experience for her guests.
Sylvia passed away in 2017 at the age of 80, but she managed to create many happy years of memories here. Syliva was a beloved member of the community, and the team here is carrying on her legacy by doing their best to make every visit unforgettable.
When you look around, pay close attention to every detail -- nothing is an accident.
The bar is made of solid mahogany and was built in 1864. And it's still the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cocktail.
Of course, regal surroundings are nice, but we tend to go to restaurants for the food... and the menu here will not disappoint.
The food can best be described as contemporary bistro fare, and it's exquisite.
CAV serves lunch and dinner daily as well as a hearty weekend brunch.
They also offer a low key bistro menu that's only available Monday - Wednesday evenings.
And this is probably stating the obvious, but when your server asks about dessert, you should definitely say yes.
Just trust us.
CAV is open 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. most days of the week for lunch and dinner.
On Saturdays, however, you can dine from 9:30 a.m. - midnight, and from 10 - 10 on Sundays.
