The Astoria Sunday Market Is The Most Delightful Farmers Market In Oregon
We all know the importance of shopping locally, and there's no better way to do this than at an Oregon farmers market. In Oregon, summer is peak farmers market season, with farmers, artisans, makers, and entrepreneurs showing up in all corners of the Beaver State to showcase their skills. One of our favorite farmers markets in Oregon to shop is in (unsurprisingly) one of our favorite towns on the Oregon Coast: Astoria. The Astoria Sunday Market in Oregon is the quintessential farmers market experience, and easily the most delightful seasonal market in the state.
For more than 20 years, the Astoria Sunday Market has been delighting guests with its lively open-air makers and growers marketplace that happens weekly, beginning on Mother's Day each May and ending the second Sunday in October.
What's so marvelous about a farmers market is that it prompts curiosity about where our food comes from... and invites us to discover new-to-us fruits and vegetables we might have never tried otherwise...
...such as sea beans, pattypan squash, tomatillos, and purple asparagus. Yum! Truly -- eating the rainbow has never been more delicious or fun.
(We're all for drinking the rainbow, too...)
The Astoria Sunday Market is nothing if not an experience. From grabbing a bite to eat from a local truck at the food court...
...to sampling cuisine from all across the globe...
...to listening to live music from local bands and musicians, the Astoria Sunday Market is always such a delightful place to be!
And the artisans and makers at the Astoria market are on another level entirely. What a cool idea for a "stall!"
And if you're looking for a perfect, wholly unique, only-in-Oregon gift, well... you'll most certainly find it here.
Shopping locally in Oregon is an absolutely delightful experience at this farmers market.
