They are the only skeleton museum in the country and it's a great place to take the kids for a day trip while they are on spring or summer break. Isn't it so cool that we have this unique museum right in our backyard? If you're looking to visit, they are located at 10301 South Sunnylane Road in Oklahoma City. Tickets can be pre-purchased on their website (the link can be found at the bottom of the article).
The museum has over 7,000 sq. ft. of space and features over 40 exhibits. They currently have over 300 skeletons from all corners of the world.
Interested in classes? They have several to choose from, including a Forensic Osteology class that examines different trauma signatures on the human skull and dentition caused by blunt force trauma, sharp force trauma, and gunshot wounds.
You'll find over 800 specimens in the museum and it's so cool to see what lies beneath the skin. Can you guess what species this skeleton belongs to?
Other cool exhibits you won't want to miss are the amphibians and reptiles and the primates.
They also have an exhibit on Oklahoma wildlife. You'll get to view the skeletons of deer, fox, muskrat, mice, American bison, and more.
