Train rides are a great way to experience the beauty of Oklahoma. We don't have very many to choose from but there is an open-air train ride in Broken Bow that offers a scenic adventure for the whole family. Hop aboard and make memories in the Sooner State!
Beavers Bend Depot & Trail Rides is located inside Beavers Bend State Park right off of Highway 259A. It makes for a great outing for the whole family.
The train ride is only about 20 minutes long but you'll travel through some beautiful scenery along the route.
The trains are 1/3-size replica trains, similar to ones you might find at our zoos. It is a steam-powered C.P. Huntington and was the first locomotive purchased by the Southern Pacific Railroad.
During the ride, you'll most likely spot some local wildlife so have your cameras ready.
The depot offers rides every day of the week usually twice every hour until 4:00 p.m. Be sure to follow along on their Facebook page for the latest hours, as they might change due to the weather.
This beloved train ride is a favorite activity for most visitors to the area. You might recognize our governor and his wife enjoying a ride here too.
Back at the depot, there is a gift shop and ice cream area with tables. You can enjoy some tasty treats before or after your ride. If you would like to extend your time here, head over to the stables for a horseback ride.
Be sure and check their Facebook page before visiting for the latest news and announcements. Google does not reflect their current hours.
