This holiday season, Tremont is the place to be.

For years, Hermes Road Racing has been hosting the Santa Shuffle in this quirky Cleveland neighborhood, and it's an event many have come to anticipate.

This year, the event takes place on Saturday, December 8. The race begins at 4 p.m., but festivities will continue through roughly 8 p.m. following the race.

This merry and magical race begins at Tremont Taphouse on Starkweather Ave. and it winds down Professor Ave. to The South Side.

If you arrive a bit early, you can indulge in a pre-race party from 1:30 to 3:45 p.m.

Nearly all participants don festive apparel, meaning you are bound to see a few familiar faces.

Don't feel like wearing a beard and a big ol' belly? No worries! You'll still be treated to a bib number, a free shirt, and a post-race party.

Whether they're dressed in a Santa suit or Ralphie's bunny outfit, racers cozy up before they run, jog, walk, or stroll along the course.

This event is not timed, so there's no pressure to speed through. It's all about having a great time and benefits the Tremont West Development Corporation's community events.

Following the one-mile journey, participants appreciate a free post-race beer.

It's always nice to warm up indoors, but this beer and the holiday cheer will definitely fill you with a warm and fuzzy feeling.

This year, don't be a Grinch!

(Unless it's your costume, of course!)

Mark your calendar for December 8, because this event is sure to spread holiday cheer.
