For generations, Downtown Cleveland has been the heart of the city's cultural preservation and celebration. As a result of this, the area features spectacular attractions like the Cultural Gardens of Rockefeller Park and many incredible museums. One museum celebrates a different aspect of our culture: youth. This super cool attraction provides a learning environment in which children can make discoveries through adventure, and the entire family will have a great time. This epic museum just reopened in a brand new location, and you simply have to see it to believe it.

Clevelanders of all ages adored The Children’s Museum of Cleveland, a University Circle fixture.

The Children’s Museum of Cleveland (CMC) was a familiar and beloved sight in University Circle. Its roots date back to 1981 when parents, educators, and community leaders joined forces to bring special educational activities to elementary school classrooms. In 1986, the CMC officially opened in University Circle, and the community received it warmly.

The museum offered a unique environment in which children could explore and discover.

More than 100,000 people visited the museum annually, and each left entranced by the awesome and innovative exhibits.

However, on January 3, 2016, the museum closed its University Circle facility.

Why, you ask? Well, in December of 2014, the CMC purchased the historic Stager-Beckwith Mansion in the Midtown neighborhood, and they moved into the new building and quickly started assembling incredible new exhibits.

Following its move, the museum became known for its "Museum Without Walls" programs.

Through community outreach, the museum managed to continue inspiring children though they were not ready to host them at the new facility. That is, until November of 2017, when their doors officially opened.

Now, the brand new museum can be found in Midtown, right on Euclid Avenue in the historic Stager-Beckwith Mansion.

Not only is this new location a stunner, but it also features three times as much exhibit space. We all know that means three times the fun!!!

Its new exhibits are nothing short of incredible.

The museum features four permanent exhibits, each one interactive and out of the box.

The Wonder Lab allows children to become scientists as they observe occurrences and question why they happened.

In this kooky lab, kids can play with fun-filled water tables,create bubble cascades, and explore a whirlpool.

Arts & Parts helps visitors bring their imaginations to life.

Children unleash their inner artist as they create and construct in this charming studio.

In the Making Miniatures room, children learn how miniaturists make teeny tiny objects as they explore a pint-sized world.

Among the charming displays in this room is a replica of the very building you are standing in. Adult group tours for this exhibit will be available in 2018.

Adventure City, the final exhibit, offers a multi-level playground where imaginations can run wild.

Though Adventure City is only two stories high, it demonstrates to children that imagination is limitless.

The museum staff and volunteers add a touch of magic to everything they do, both in the museum and in the community.
