These Fireworks Displays In New Mexico Will Drop Your Jaw

If you want to catch some spectacular fireworks displays on Independence Day, look no further. Many of New Mexico’s towns and cities throw great celebrations that include fireworks shows. Here is a list of events celebrating the 4th of July that will take place in New Mexico:

1. Farmington

Freedom Days runs from Thursday June 30th, through the 4th of July. The annual fireworks display is on Sunday July 3rd at 9:25pm at Sullivan Hill.

2. Alamogordo

The New Mexico Museum of Space History is the venue for this 4th of July Extravaganza. Museum members are permitted early entrance at 6:00 p.m. on Independence Day, and non-members with passes are welcome from 6:30 p.m. A pass grants you two parking spots – one for your vehicle and one from which you can watch the display. Although the actual fireworks only begin at 9:15 p.m., attendees must arrive before 8:00 p.m.

3. Grants

Grants celebrates the 4th of July in style with the oldest ongoing July 4th parade in the state. The fireworks display takes place at around 9:30 p.m., at the Coyote del Malpais Golf Course. You can even hear music designed to accompany the fireworks show by listening to KMIN 96.7.

4. Silver City

The First American Bank Fireworks Show can be viewed from most places in Silver City, since they are fired from a hilltop behind the Grant County Administration Building, when darkness falls. The rest of the festivities are held in Gough Park.

5. Rio Rancho

If you’re not in a food coma from the Annual Pork and Brew BBQ State Championship, head to Loma Colorado Park to watch the 4th July

fireworks. The display starts around 9:15 p.m. but there is live music in the park from 6:00 p.m.

6. Mescalero

Inn of the Mountain Gods claims to host New Mexico’s biggest fireworks show. The display begins at dark on July 4th.

7. Albuquerque

Freedom 4th is held in Balloon Fiesta Park. Park and ride shuttles are available from both the Cottonwood and Coronado Malls. The actual fireworks display takes place between 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

8. Clayton

The town of Clayton throws a multi-day 4th of July celebration, beginning on the 1st of the month. The Fireworks Extravaganza happens on Independence Day itself, following the rodeo, which starts at 6:00 p.m.

9. Clovis

On July 4th, the Smoke on the Water fireworks display takes place at Greene Acres Park.

10. Las Cruces

In Las Cruces, the fun starts on Sunday July 3rd with an electric light parade. On the 4th, festivities are held at Field of Dreams Football Stadium (enter from Motel Boulevard). The fireworks display is at 10:30 p.m.

11. Las Vegas

The Fourth of July Fiestas have been taking place since 1888! Four days of entertainment in Plaza Park culminate in a fireworks show from the Gene Torres Golf Course. The display starts at dusk.

12. Portales

On Independence Day, there will be a professional fireworks display when it gets dark, at approximately 9:00 p.m., at the Portales Softball Complex.

13. Santa Fe

Santa Fe’s fireworks display begins at 9:00 p.m., but doors open at 6:00 p.m. The event takes place at Santa Fe High School.

14. Socorro

Held at Macey Center, this Independence Day celebration includes a firework show that starts at dark.
