This Epic Snow Tubing Hill In Nebraska Will Give You The Winter Thrill Of A Lifetime
Eugene T. Mahoney State Park offers thrilling snow tubing hills perfect for winter fun in Nebraska.
It's officially winter, Nebraska! Most of the state has seen at least a little bit of snow by now, but some places have accumulated enough to make for great sledding or snow tubing conditions. That doesn't mean that we've stopped dreaming about snowy winter days spent outdoors, though - if anything, now we dream about it more. Head to this awesome hill for tons of cold-weather fun - it's one of the most fun tubing hills in Nebraska!
The three hills at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near Ashland are officially called toboggan runs, but that doesn't mean you have to have a toboggan to ride.
Actually, the name just means that you can't use skis, snowboards, or sleds with rails to go down the hills. You can bring a plastic sled, but we think the best way to ride these hills is in an inflatable snow tube. They seem to glide more efficiently, and you not only get to zip downhill; you also get to spin around on the way down.
This video puts you right in the driver's seat as this tuber zooms down one of the hills. If you're prone to motion sickness you might want to skip this one - it's kind of intense!

For a somewhat calmer look at the hill from a spectator's viewpoint, check out the video below. Notice there's a clearly defined area for tubes and sleds to slide on, and there's a safety stop at the bottom of the hill so you always end up in a predictable place.

There are three hills to enjoy; one of them is about half the length of the others so it's best for smaller kids. You will need a Nebraska parks permit to get into the park. Day passes are available at the entrance.
Find the park on I-80, at exit #426.
We know that there are plenty of other sledding and tubing hills in the state, so tell us where your favorite is! Not too long ago we told you about another awesome attraction for kids at Mahoney State Park - read about it here.
