10 Jaw Dropping Views In Kansas City That Will Blow You Away

If you think about it, some of us complain that there's never enough to do here (at least sometimes). If you ever forget how awesome this city is, just think of the jaw-dropping views in Kansas City! They're always hiding right where you'd least expect them, and we're on a mission to find the best of the best. Have you witnessed all of these amazing views?

10. World War I Memorial.

This stoic tower sits against the sky with no contest, making sure that if you're looking at it, that's all you see. There's beauty in the architecture, and in the open skies behind it, as well as inside, with all of the memories of the war.

9. Outside of Union Station, the Henry Wollman Bloch Fountain.

As far as fountains go, this one isn't too intricate. However, it makes for a stunning display when paired with a Kansas City sunset.

8. Union Station.

On the inside of this gorgeous building is the hustle and bustle of passersby, a brightly decorated piano, and the most beautiful ceiling you'll find in the city. There's just no contest.

7. The Missouri River from the Chouteau Bridge.

The bridge itself isn't much to remark on, but the stunning views of the city behind the river are. Again, everything is made better by the sun.

6. One of our local wineries.

Pick any winery near Kansas City, and you'll find yourself surrounded in quiet beauty (and wine)! I nominate Rowe Ridge, Stonehaus Farms, and Vox Vineyards as some of our most scenic.

5. The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Though it isn't always blue, the building itself feels like our very own Sydney Opera House, without the water. Of course, the sounds within are always a beauty to hear as well.

4. The Nelson-Atkins Museum.

I know this one's popular with tourists too, but it's always stunning to see things from all over the world brought to one location to be shared. This Temple Room is one of my favorites, filled with statues and carvings from China.

3. The Scout statue by Cyrus E. Dallin.

This memorial to local Native American tribes is a lookout point for many photographers, but some forget to capture its beauty as well. It's location in Penn Valley Park overlooks downtown KC, where it's been since around 1920.

2. Our many fountains of all shapes and sizes.

Our amazing fountains are usually only noticed by locals after the water's been dyed for an event or holiday, however, the beauty in these sculpted horses is beyond color. You could visit a different fountain almost every day of the year, but most are good enough to repeat a few times.

1. The Power and Light building.

This architecturally stunning Art Deco skyscraper reminds all of us where we started and how hard we need to work to reach our goals. This building was constructed in 1931 to promote new jobs, and now serves as housing for many. As the sun fades, the building lights up and brings back the magic for each night's skyline.
