Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota offers a unique wilderness experience with campsites accessible only by water.

Minnesota is home to unique and beautiful scenery, and one of our favorite features is our national park in the North. Voyageurs National Park is unlike any other in that its campsites and interior are accessible only by water. This park provides one of the only remaining true wilderness experiences where you can enjoy the beauty of America's land without human interference. Voyageurs National Park is a wonderful national park to visit in Minnesota, and you can learn all about it and its camping opportunity below.

There are over 500 islands within the park's 200,000+ acres.

There are 240 campsites that are the perfect place for camping with houseboats and tents.

We repeat, not a single campsite can be accessed without a motorboat, a canoe, a kayak, or a sailboat.

You'll enjoy the seclusion of the 655 miles of shoreline on these four large lakes on the Canadian border.

You can also opt for day tours from the Kabetogama, Ash River and Rainy Lake visitor centers, or stay at the beautiful and historic Kettle Falls Hotel.

Voyageurs National Park is definitely the most well-known park in Minnesota and has its unique draws, but don't forget about the Mississippi National River & Recreation Area, the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, Pipestone National Monument, and Grand Portage National Monument. There's so much beauty to explore in our lovely state, and we recommend you pay a visit to each national park in Minnesota!
