Unexpected Treasures Can Be Found at Joe Jitters, a Thrifter’s Dream in Minnesota

Is there anything better than finding a hidden treasure that, upon seeing it, you know you can't live without? For me, it's finding gems that really makes thrifting so fun - and puts the thrill in the chase. That said, sometimes locating a gem of a thrift store can seem as difficult as locating a special item: the same things week after week, an inventory that never seems to have anything to offer, or, frankly, nothing but junk. But then, there are those wonderful places where, every time you go in, something catches your eye. There's a place just like that in the charming community of Moose Lake: Joe Jitters Antique and Craft Mall. Frankly, I think it's one of the best thrift shops in Minnesota.

Although the words "Antique and Craft Mall" are clearly visible on the store's awning, you'd be forgiven for questioning things when you open the door to the business and find yourself in a coffee shop. Don't be alarmed: The fact that the shop shares space with a coffee is just one of the things that makes Joe Jitters so cool.

There are certainly hints when you first walk in, like racks of cards and other knickknacks that lead, like a breadcrumb trail, through the coffee shop and into the thrifting space beyond. Once up the ramp into the shop, though, you're in a thrifting wonderland where several individual vendors, like Junktique Chicks, have set up displays of their wares.

You'll find everything from clothes and crafts to art and antiques. I always like to check out the selection of cabin decor and accessories when I stop in.
