This Funky Minnesota Store Has Been Selling Music And Pop Culture Collectibles For Over 50 Years

Down In The Valley is a unique record shop in Golden Valley, MN, offering a wide range of music and pop culture collectibles.

Down In The Valley, a Minnesota record shop located (not surprisingly) in Golden Valley, MN, has been selling music and collectibles - ranging from pop culture items and toys to crystals and rocks and much more - for over half a century. This funky store's selection of merchandise is so varied and eclectic that it's difficult to describe, but I'll do my best to try and convey to you the wonder that is Down In The Valley.

Down In The Valley's location in this now-retro Golden Valley strip mall has been a mecca for pop culture collectors and music enthusiasts since 1972.

Over the years, it's had a few satellite locations. Currently, the Maple Grove shop is the only other DITV outside the flagship Golden Valley location.

You'll notice the shop's eclecticism right off the bat upon entering.

But it's also clear that, first and foremost, Down In The Valley is a record shop. It sells new and used vinyl and compact discs.

You can even find cassettes here, if that's your thing.

In addition to records, DITV carries a wide range of toys and collectibles, spanning a variety of genres, tastes, and pop culture sensibilities.

Movie, cartoon, and comic book action figures? Check.

Funko Pop! and plush toys? Most definitely.

And if you're into rocks, crystals, candles, or other new age interests, you'll probably find something up your alley at Down In The Valley, as well.

Apart from selling its merchandise, Down In The Valley hosts regular events, like album release parties and Record Store Day specials.

You can even catch live acts performing at DITV.

The best way to get a feel for this fantastic shop is to experience it for yourself! Check out Down In The Valley's website before you go, or visit DITV on Facebook for photos and updates. After you've picked up the newest release ahead of an upcoming concert and/or your favorite Harry Potter action figure, head over to nearby Under Pressure Brewing for a celebratory butterbeer.
