This DC General Store Is Too Charming For Words

DC is a fascinating place that combines the present and the past on every corner. But even in a place like DC it's hard to find a quaint general store that will take you back to yesteryear. However, the one exception to that is Franklins Restaurant, Brewery and General Store. This charming general store is quite the experience and everyone will love it.

Franklins Restaurant, Brewery and General Store is located just past the DC-Maryland border in Hyattsville.

The store is in a building which dates back to the 1880s. The building was Hyattsville Hardware Co. from 1910 until 1992.

But in 1992, Franklins General Store and Deli opened. They served sandwiches, gifts, beer, wine toys and more.

Today, the general store continues to sell a wide selection of goods and products. There is over 3,000 square feet of shopping space and you can find just about everything you need there!

And you won't want to miss their wall of hot sauce!

Once you've finished shopping, you can dine at the restaurant. They have a menu of burgers, pizzas, sandwiches and salads all made from local ingredients.

Franklins also opened a brewery in 2002 and you can purchase their homemade brews at the restaurant.

Franklins is a destination spot and gathering for locals. It's always bustling with diners, brewery buffs and shoppers! They are located at 5123 Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville, Maryland and are open daily.
