Five Different Planets Will Align In The Maine Night Sky During An Incredibly Rare Display
Looking up into the night sky really evokes a lot of deep thought. Maybe it has to do with the vast expanse of nothingness, maybe it has to do with the wonder of discovery, or even still it promotes deep philosophical thoughts. Either way, the Maine night sky is a fascinating spectacle to watch. Rare events like the now-dubbed "Parade of Planets" offer us an opportunity to witness something truly amazing while stargazing in Maine.
In late March of 2023, five planets will align.
This is a rare astronomical event and a wonder to see. Being in March, this event should be the perfect way to ring in the spring season.
Starting on March 25th and continuing for the rest of the month, this parade of planets spectacle has to be seen to be believed.
One of the most amazing things about this event is that you will be able to see this all with the naked eye.
The planets that will be lined up are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus and will all be visible in the night sky.
You will want to have a compass and make sure you are looking South East for this display.
You will be able to view this comic masterpiece in slightly different formations over the five days.
Jupiter and Mercury will be the first to appear around sunset, followed by Venus and Uranus. Mars will be the brightest and most visible of all throughout the night.
It is amazing to think each planet will be visible to just your eyes alone.
However, depending on the day you choose to look at these planets you might want to bring binoculars. Uranus may be hard to spot, but with a good pair of binoculars you are sure to catch a glimpse.
So find your favorite stargazing spots with low light pollution and unobstructed views. Maine hosts plenty of places where you will get an amazing view of the night sky. Then set the alarm to be ready a little bit before the sun sets. So get outside and enjoy this Incredible and rare event in the Maine sky!
