It is by the largest shrine in the world, and it was put together over 90 years by Father Paul Dobberstein, starting in 1912, and his successor Father Greving.

The shrine began as a tribute to the Virgin Mary. When Father Paul Dobberstein was ill wih pneumonia, he prayed and promised to build a shrine on her honor of he lived. Needless to say, he kept his word.

The shrine is divided into nine sections, each one depicting a scene in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Even if you are not religious, you'll find plenty of inspiration and beauty in the artwork.
