Celebrate Spring In The Sweetest Way At The Sweet Auburn Springfest In Georgia
There's a lot to love about Atlanta, and if you ask us, the city's rich history doesn't get nearly the attention that it should. There are so many districts within the city that have immense historical value. One of ATL's most culturally significant neighborhoods is the Sweet Auburn district just east of downtown. This primarily African American neighborhood has been named a National Historic Landmark District thanks to its history and development during the Jim Crow era. The neighborhood is also home to one of the best spring festivals in Georgia: the annual Sweet Auburn Springfest. This weekend of fun is one of the largest free family events in the entire Southeast, and it's always a blast. This year's festival takes place May 13-May 14, 2023. Check it out:
Sweet Auburn is a 19-acre district that was once one of the most prominent Black business districts in the Southeast. This area has tons of history, street art, and delicious food.
It's also home to a variety of festivals and parades that are some of the most popular events in Atlanta, like the Atlanta Carribean Carnival.
The largest annual event in Sweet Auburn is the Sweet Auburn Springfest. The family-friendly festival attracts thousands of attendees each year.
There's always a lot going on here, with live music from a variety of genres, comedy shows, and more.
There are plenty of games and and an entire Kids Zone for the little ones.
The international food court is the place to be if you're looking for tons of food options from all over the world.
This diverse event is one of the best spring festivals in Georgia and it's so much fun for the whole family!
