What was it about Barbie that made us wish we could step into her world? Was it the wardrobe? Perhaps it was the incredible Dream House or the fact that it was called the “dream” house? Or just maybe it was the fact that she and her friends literally had (and got to do) everything - in miniature! I am pretty sure that’s what it was for me. Well, it is high time that our collective wish came true. Put reality on hold for a day with this Barbie-themed interactive experience in Los Angeles.
Enter the World of Barbie and explore the lavish pink lifestyle and the many careers of the American classic doll.
Adults and kids of every age are welcome and the entire experience is fully accessible for anyone with special needs. The World of Barbie is open Wednesdays through Sundays and it generally takes people about an hour to enjoy it.
Here it is… settle into the beachfront Dream House living room, where there is plenty of room to invite your friends over for a chat in front of the fireplace. Check out the full-size wardrobe and shoe collection in the closet and head to the kitchen to prepare a meal from the fully-stocked fridge.
Don’t miss going for a “swim” in the bubble-filled pool which, naturally, you can enter via a pink slide.
Wherever it is you plan to go, the ride will be far more comfortable in Barbie’s luxurious pink camper van.
Pick from several scenes to "drive" to, and when you arrive, you can relax in the hammock, watch a movie at the table, or kick back with friends in the Adirondack chairs.
Step aboard Barbie Interstellar Airways find your seat - unless, of course, you are the pilot - and make sure you mind the “Fasten your seatbelt” sign.
If you are part of Barbie’s World, “you can be anything,” so what would your box of accessories include? Choose from several box sets for a super fun photo op.
We all know Barbie has had a number of careers and you can re-live several of them from the recording studio to the science lab to the talk show set, among others.
Take a little break and duck into the Barbie Theater to watch some Barbie content on the little big screen.
You will also get a chance to see historic Barbie dolls down through the years, past versions of the dream house, Barbie’s assorted convertibles, and other nostalgic memorabilia, including a special display of the very first Barbie.
Whether you want to indulge the child in you or bring a child for a dream day they won’t forget, this is one interactive experience in Los Angeles that is sure to wow. What do you think?
