You Won’t Want to Miss the Viking Festival in Arkansas This February
Calling all fairies, ghouls, pirates, or fearless knights! This February, channel your inner Viking at this unique Viking festival in Arkansas.
Arkansas is no stranger to festivals. No matter what kind of festival you’re in the mood for, you can find it here. Whether it’s food, music, animals, or quirky events, we have that and more. One of our favorite types of festivals is where we can get dressed up and participate in all the festivities.
That’s exactly what you’ll get at the Arkansas Viking Thing. This Viking culture and history festival is hosted by the Arkansas Renaissance Festival, a permanent fixture festival in Mount Vernon. Channel your inner fairies, ghouls, pirates, or fearless knights, come dressed to impress and enjoy all the merriment. Mark your calendar, folks, and let’s make the most of February by attending this unique Viking festival in Arkansas.
Huzzah y’all!!! The upcoming Arkansas Viking Thing festival is “Where Mere Men Become Legends.” On February 21 and February 22, 2026, this two-day event is full of fun for everyone, and you don't want to miss it.
The festival will be held at Dragonstone Springs in Mount Vernon, an immersive 16th-century environment full of adventure. Witness live warrior challenges and fiery performances, take pics with enchanting characters, and listen to them tell Viking tales of a time of yesteryear. Plus, there will be live music and dancing, and of course, you can feast on juicy turkey legs, too!
There is something at this unique festival for the entire family to enjoy. Not only can you get dressed up in your favorite costume (or come as you are), but there will be lots of interactive events and competitions as well.
The little ones will love the Kid’s Zone, full of games and rides, and there will be campfires to roast s'mores. Don’t skip the archery contests or the interactive theater, where the professional characters perform their acts on 3 different stages. The best part? You can join in on all that fun!
But that’s not all! If you enjoy axe throwing, knife throwing, arm wrestling, acrobatics, and everything in between, you’ll find them here, too.
There will also be a beard competition, arm wrestling, and a traditional Viking ship burning memorial. Of course, artisan vendors will be present, showcasing their handcrafted creations. After browsing through the booths, you might leave the festival with a bag (or two) full of goodies.
This unique immersive experience is unlike any other festival that you’ll attend this year. Tickets for the Viking Thing are on sale now, and they’re selling out fast.
