13 Bizarre Roadside Attractions In Arizona That Will Make You Do A Double Take

Arizona is a land full of beautiful landscapes that certainly garner a double take. But did you know there are also plenty of strange spots along the state’s highways that are worth a double take AND a picture? Here’s a few of the weirder things you might see around the state:

1. These dinosaurs that sprawl the streets of Holbrook are just the start of a long list of strange finds in Arizona.

2. If you ever watched an episode of the Flinstones, a stop at Bedrock City near Valle is a must!

3. Located near Sanders along Route 66 is a replica of Fort Courage from the mid-1960s show F Troop.

4. This pair of giant spurs in Wickenburg is also a little weird.

It sits in a roundabout a little north of town on Highway 93 and was installed last year.

5. Giganticus Headicus in Walapai is another weird find along Route 66.

6. There’s also the Golf Ball House in Yucca.

Known by many other names like Area 66 and the Arizona Death Star, this restaurant turned house may soon become open to visitors but for now most people enjoy getting a photo in front of the oddly shaped building.

7. Hackberry General Store in the tiny town of Hackberry along Route 66 is another interesting find worthy of a visit!

8. The junk art scattered around Chloride is another strange sight!

You’ll everything from this caterpillar made of bowling balls and a flamingo made from an old gas tank. Residents here certainly learned how to make something out of nothing!

9. If you’re driving between Kingman and Las Vegas, you might want to stop at this odd Christmas-themed ghost town.

Once planned for a tourist stop around the theme of Santa’s desert vacation spot, the town of Santa Claus today sits in ruins along Highway 93.

10. A collection of billboards advertise the mystery of “The Thing,” which sits in the stretch of Interstate 10 between Dragoon and Willcox.

What is it? We don’t want to ruin the surprise!

11. The World’s Largest Kokopelli—which stands 32 feet tall—is found standing in front of a Starbucks and taco shop.

12. The World’s Largest Desert Tortoise is located in Bullhead City and is apparently named Poki!

Sadly, the tortoise isn’t real but is still worth a photo op because it is bigger than the picture suggests. It sits on the Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce property along Highway 95.

13. And, finally, there’s the World’s Smallest Museum located in Superior. Don’t blink when driving by because you might miss it!

This museum measures a mere 134 square feet and is located at the Buckboard City Cafe along Highway 60.
