Arizona Has Its Own Area 51 And The Stories Behind It Are Truly Bizarre

Area 66 in Yucca, Arizona, is a unique UFO museum located near an alleged 1953 spaceship crash site, offering a quirky and educational stop for Route 66 travelers.

Why try to storm Area 51 when Arizona has its very own version? This UFO museum is located just miles away from an alleged spaceship crash that occurred in 1953, and it's one of the most underrated tourist attractions in the state.

Those who find themselves passing through Yucca on Route 66 will likely encounter this eerily intriguing sign.

Follow its directives and travel through space and time to planets far, far away from ours that are inhabited by intelligent life.

Known as 'Area 66' due to its location on the iconic highway, this geodesic dome was built after an alleged UFO crash outside of Kingman in 1953.

It served as both a real estate office and private residence before being converted into a museum for all things extraterrestrial.

Encompassing 3,400 square feet, the museum is jam-packed with articles, relics, and plenty of local history exhibits.

At just $10 for adults and $5 for children, it's a great place to stretch your legs and learn some new tidbits of information. There are currently no inside photos available for us to give you a sneak peek, so you'll just have to see it for yourself!

You can purchase souvenirs like alien posters, Route 66 enamel pins, and original artwork.

Don't leave without posing in front of this quirky little photo-op.

A spaceship and Saguaro stand side-by-side, as if to remind visitors they're still in Arizona despite all the otherworldly surroundings.

Stock up on road trip necessities at the convenience store before resuming your travels.

It's one of the only businesses in Yucca, so you should probably stop, even if you aren't in dire need of anything. Plus, they make some incredible beef jerky in all sorts of delicious flavors!

Address: 12716 Alamo Road, Yucca, Arizona, 86438

Museum hours are Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
