One such store that has become an absolute landmark is Wilson’s General Store, in rural Georgetown. This deli and shop has everything you could possibly need, so be sure to stop by for breakfast, or just a chat with the owner about Delaware life.
Wilson's General Store is located at 24739 Springfield Rd, Georgetown, DE 19947.
This little corner store has been serving Delawareans since the 1930s, when it was converted from a one room schoolhouse.
In 1944, Marshall Wilson bought the General Store, and it has been in the Wilson family ever since!
Marshall's son, Jim, bought the store from his father in 1970, and has been running the store ever since.
Today, it's the same general store that Delawareans have grown to love.
Jim Wilson alway keeps standard general store stock, including snacks, tools, fishing supplies, and even guns and ammunition.
Wilson's is known for making some of the best sandwiches in Delaware - like this bagel BLT...
...or this bacon and egg sandwich.
Like any good Delaware deli, they're known for making an amazing scrapple and egg sandwich on giant Texas toast.
The history of Wilson's General Store is so intertwined with the history of Slower Lower, Delaware that it has its own chapter in a book about the state.
