It might be small, with a population of just over 4,000, but it’s got more than enough sugary goodness to satisfy the entire state. The most famous purveyor of sweets in the town is Lyman Orchards, world-renowned for their delicious pies, but there’s plenty of other delicious goodness to be found in Middlefield! Your most famous stop here will definitely be at Lyman Orchards. Their farm store sells some of the best pies in Connecticut. They've got traditional year-round varieties, along with seasonal flavors and some fun experimental flavors as well.
It's not all sweets, though. The Apple Barrel farm store also sells fresh, locally-grown produce. The store is open all year round and even has a deli inside.
