What began as a modest community event has blossomed into a seasonal staple that attracts more than 100,000 people each year. The festivities kick off during the last week of April. On the last Saturday and Sunday in April, thousands of visitors flock to Hubbard Park for the annual Meriden Daffodil Festival.
This free event has something for everyone.
Rev up your adrenaline on the super slide, take a leisurely ride on the carousel, and look above the fields of flowers on the ferris wheel.
Visitors always look forward to the Saturday daffodil parade.
The parade has a new theme each year, and it's always spectacular. Watch as thousands of people play music, ride on floats, and entertain the crowds.
After the colorful parade, visit one of the 50 food vendors and munch on a delicious treat.
But that's not the only attraction at the Meriden Daffodil Festival. You can also peruse the selection at the giant craft fair. Dozens of local businesses will set up shop and showcase their unique goods.
Musicians will entertain guests throughout the day.
You'll hear everything from classic rock tribute bands to local singer songwriters.
There's even an adorable Little Miss Daffodil and Honor Escort contest.
If you have a little one, you'll definitely want to see if they wish to participate.
Of course, the real stars of the show are the 600,000 daffodils blooming throughout the park.
