What started as a hobby for owner Bill Swets quickly grew into a northern Colorado phenomenon that attracts both Coloradans and tourists alike!
What exactly is the Swetsville Zoo, and what makes it so one-of-a-kind? The aforementioned hobby of Swets' is metalwork, which he has used to create the 180 gigantic sculptures on his property, which doubles as both his home and the open-to-the-public Zoo.
When you visit, set aside ample time to explore the property, which includes everything from life-size dinosaurs to larger-than-life insects to nursery rhyme and pop culture characters.

As per reports from several media outlets, the Swetsville Zoo property was listed for sale in 2019, so while the future of the iconic attraction is unknown, there is still time to visit.
The Swetsville Zoo is open every day from sunrise to sunset. Admission to the Zoo is free, but donations are both accepted and appreciated.
