National Park to Visit in Colorado

What are some of the best state parks in Colorado?

Colorado isn’t a gigantic state like, say, Texas or California, but it’s not tiny like Rhode Island, either; we’d say it’s the perfect size, but wouldn’t you know it – we have so many state parks that we might feel like we’re in a much bigger state than we are. Turns out, there are 42 amazing state parks in Colorado to choose from, and honestly, it’s almost impossible to claim that one is the “best” over another. “Best” is certainly subjective, but we do have our favorites! Some of our favorite Colorado state parks – which we’d argue are among the best – include beautiful Trinidad Lake State Park, which can be found in southern Colorado and features a crystalline lake that reflects blue from the sky for days. Another very much beloved park – beloved by us and just about everyone else – is Rifle Falls State Park, which features an intensely beautiful waterfall, among other things. We’re also obsessed with Eldorado Canyon State Park, which features a canyon landscape so amazing that you might wonder if the Grand Canyon is really the grandest.

What are some great, easy hiking trails in Colorado?

Sometimes you want to take it easy but still get out and appreciate the great outdoors. Well, with thousands of amazing hiking trails in our very own backyards, there are more than enough quick, easy trails to go around. There are so many, in fact, that it would take someone a very long time to visit them all if they visited one per day. Some of our favorite easy hiking trails in Colorado include the awesome Dream Lake Trail (two miles long), Alberta Falls Trail (1.6 miles long), and Bear Lake Nature Trail (0.7 miles long), all of which are located within Rocky Mountain National Park. Alternatively, you could head out to Red Rocks Park to avoid the crowds and check out the short-and-simple Red Rocks Trading Post Trail. It’s 1.5 miles long and quite easy, so it’s great for relaxing. Need more ideas? Check out this list of amazing Colorado hikes you NEED to do.
