A Trip To The Money Museum In Colorado Is One Of The Best Ways To Spend Some Time
Are you a lover of things off the beaten path? While there are many iconic things to see and do around Colorado, natives and long-time residents alike may wish to try something new and exciting. Not sure where to begin? We recommend starting with a trip to the Money Museum:
Hiding away in downtown Colorado Springs is the American Numismatic Association, which is a "nonprofit dedicated to the study of numismatics and coin collecting," that hosts countless events, seminars, and even a library for all things currency.
In addition to these vital collecting and educational resources, the American Numismatic Association is also home to the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum, the impressive "Money Museum" that is considered to be the largest in the country!
Housing three main galleries and several state-of-the-art exhibits, the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum explores not only the value of currency, but also the art, history, and science behind it, making for an educational experience that you will not find anywhere else.
When you visit, plan to stay awhile, as the Money Museum boasts such fascinating exhibits as the Harry W. Bass Gallery (the most complete U.S. gold coin collection ever assembled), Money of Empire: Elizabeth to Elizabeth, and the History of Money.
After exploring these incredible collections and displays, be sure to check out the more hands-on and interactive attractions, which include the Mini Mint and Kids Zone.
Before you go, be sure to visit the Money Museum's
website, as the Museum hosts several special events that you don't want to miss!
Admission to the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (55+), and $6 for military and students.
The Edward C. Rochette Money Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
