You will find this great hiking trail just 25 minutes southwest of downtown Denver. So it's the perfect hike for an easy day trip. Or a must-do for friends visiting the Denver area.
The 1.5-mile loop trail is an easy, relatively flat path. It takes a little under an hour to complete for walkers. While the route is easy, the terrain can be rough, so proper hiking shoes are recommended.
The trail takes hikers through the absolutely stunning Fountains and Lyons rock formations. So be sure to take your time and enjoy these spectacular natural wonders. And definitely bring your camera!
While many believe the red rocks are the stars of the show, other features of the hike are equally beautiful. For instance, the trail takes you through some really lovely valleys and natural meadows, which are quite picturesque.
Red Rocks Trading Post Trail is open year-round, but the best times to visit are May through November. Note that some hikers observed pretty muddy conditions in early spring from melting snow. So always check the conditions and bring proper gear.
Dogs are allowed on the trail but must remain leashed. Be sure to stay on the marked trails, and of course, enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature.
Head over to the Red Rocks Trading Post Trail today. And don't forget to grab your camera and snap some amazing photos of the rock formations.
