Colorado is known for having countless historic accommodations that range from low-key all the way to super posh. What you may not realize about Colorado, however, is that in addition to having historic hotels and inns, we also have a historic and haunted bed and breakfast, the Hand Hotel in Fairplay CO, that the faint of heart should avoid at all costs:

Tucked away amidst the Rocky Mountains and South Platte River in the town of Fairplay is the historic Hand Hotel Bed & Breakfast, which offers "genuine western hospitality, high in the heart of the Colorado mountains."

Opened in 1931 as a hostelry, the Hand Hotel features eleven themed rooms, a delicious breakfast, and unsurpassable views from the cozy sunroom (pictured).

With all of this being said, what makes this charming B&B one of the most haunted hotels in Colorado? Well...

The Hand Hotel has a different spirit tied to each of its 11 guest rooms, including old Grandma Head (who makes sure all of the rooms are to her standard)...

...mysterious children and adults who appear via shadows in both the various rooms and in the hallway...

...and -- as one guest stated -- "Did not see any ghosts, but smelled them! I believe it was Ben that we had some sort of contact with."

(Please note: Nobody has ever reported angry or scary run-ins with the alleged ghosts of the Hand Hotel, so please do not be turned off by the inn if you are not a fan of the paranormal.)
