The Massive Miniature Train Park In Colorado That Everyone Will Love
In case you haven’t noticed, we here at Only in Colorado LOVE trains. From
unforgettable train rides and excursions and 120,000-square-foot train festivals to the nostalgia that is the Tiny Town Railroad, there is plenty of this railroad goodness to go around, including this little-known, yet massive miniature train park and museum that everyone will love:
Hiding out in Greeley is the fascinating Colorado Model Railroad Museum, whose mission is to "provide a model railroading experience that educates, inspires, and brings joy to all ages."
Believe us when we say that they go above and beyond this promise!
Spanning an amazing 5,500-square-feet, the Colorado Model Railroad Museum is a must-see, complete with 600 railroad-related artifacts and collectibles...
...an old Colorado & Southern caboose to explore (full size, of course)...
...and the pièce de résistance: the massive 5,500-square-foot, fully operational model railroad, which — as you probably guessed — is the same size as the building itself.
Whether you plan to stroll amidst the lovely art, chat with one of the knowledgeable guides, or just gaze upon the jaw-dropping model, you are guaranteed to find something to love about this Colorado gem.
The Colorado Model Railroad Museum is located at 680 10th Street in Greeley and is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on Sundays from 1 to 4 pm.
