Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area has endless recreation, after all this is the largest state park in Arkansas. Hobbs has plenty of trails but today's featured one can be enjoyed by the entire family! Let's take the Ozark Plateau Trail for an easy, breezy hike through the forest.
Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area has something for everyone.
We'd expect nothing less from Arkansas' largest state park. It spans more than 12,000 acres and includes favorites like Beaver Lake and War Eagle Caverns. In addition to the numerous recreational activities, this is also the only state park to allow regulated hunting.
One of the first things you'll want to do here is check out the Visitor Center.
Explorers of any age can learn from the numerous interactive exhibits at the Visitor Center. Not only can you learn about the park's numerous to-do's but you can also learn all about the ecosystem of the Ozarks!
Now you're ready for the hike!
The Visitor Center is not only the start of your learning experience, it's also the start of today's featured trail, too!
The trail's accessibility is our favorite thing about this hike.
This trail is wheelchair accessible and meets ADA requirements. The hike has two loops, the outside path is slightly more challenging. Including both loops, this trail is just under a mile long.
Just because the trail is short does not mean it lacks any beauty!
Along the way, you'll have an up-close view of the Ozark Plateau, which are the remains of an eroded and flat ocean floor. In addition to the topography, hikers can observe a variety of wildlife, wet-season springs, and towering forest canopy.
This little trail can be the start of your next adventure at Hobbs.
Enjoy this breezy trail before your camping begins or as a warm-up to the other 50+ miles of trails. You can plot out your Hobbs retreat by visiting their website.
