You may have heard about Mountain View. It’s the Folk Music Capital of the World, and home of the Ozark Folk Center, which is charged with keeping the memory of traditional Ozarks culture. There’s something that gets overlooked when it comes to Mountain View—and that’s the breathtaking natural beauty that totally surrounds it.

Mountain View is totally surrounded by a gorgeous forest. In fact, most of that forest is part of the Ozark National Forest.
Loco Ropes, an adventure park hiding in Mountain View, offers a chance to hang out in the canopy of that forest.
In that forest you’ll find a lovely natural spring called Blanchard Spring.
The spring begins underground, and comes to land through a cave we’ll talk about later. Where the spring meets the open air there’s a neat little waterfall.
There’s a dam on Blanchard Spring that forms a gorgeous 3-acre lake.
Mirror Lake is smooth and cool, and it’s an incredible place to spend an afternoon.
The dam and the lake make for one totally breathtaking two-tiered dam.
The natural beauty near Mountain View doesn’t end above the ground, either. Blanchard Springs Caverns is also located there.
Blanchard Springs Caverns is an extensive and stunningly beautiful living cave, and you can tour it right in Mountain View.
Mountain View is a little town totally full of history and music, sure, but it’s also totally full of natural beauty.
