Nestled in between the Boston Mountains and the Springfield Plateau in the Ozarks, is the small town of Elm Springs.
With just under 2,500 residents, it’s guaranteed that this town will be brimming with charm as well as southern hospitality.
Established in 1832, Elm Spring got its name from the large elm trees and the spring that flows through the town.
As a result of the spring, the town was originally a mill community. Today, it boasts its rich history and culture and considers itself one of the "oldest little cities in Northwest Arkansas."
Currently, the spring is managed by the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust which has kept the area looking beautiful.
In addition, it's located inside the Steele Stevens Heritage Park which boasts concerts, historical drama productions, and reenactments.
The park is also great for a quiet stroll or you can pack a lunch and have a lovely picnic while listening to the rhythms of the spring flow by.
The sleepy little town is the perfect place to spend the day relaxing as you're surrounded by nature.
If you start your morning in the town, be sure to stop by the local general store for a bite to eat as well as a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

If you’re a history buff, you’ll want to visit the cemetery that adds historical significance to this town.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020 and showcases hand-carved markers that date back to the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
For some true relaxation, head to Lake Elmdale, where you can spend the day paddling on the water or fishing for crappie, largemouth bass, warmouth, catfish, and more.
And when the day is over, be sure to stick around for the gorgeous sunset over the lake.
