Located in the town of Lake Village, the 20-mile-long “C” shaped lake was once part of the Mississippi River main channel.

For those wondering, an oxbow lake is a natural phenomenon, where a lake has been cut off from its main water source.
Because there are no natural outlets for the water to flow, oftentimes these lakes become swampy bodies of water.

However, Lake Chicot is one of the best and most thriving oases around. The sunsets are gorgeous and the lake is a favorite spot for anglers who like to catch catfish, largemouth bass, crappie, and more.
