I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
When you think of Hot Springs, the first thing that comes to mind is perhaps the state park or the bath houses. But this tourist town was once a hot spot for gangsters, mafias, bootleggers, and gamblers alike. And many of these sketchy characters gathered at the infamous Ohio Club to savor old-fashioned cocktails. Opened in 1905, the club is the oldest bar in the state and this historic spot in Arkansas was a gangster’s playground. It attracted the likes of Bugsy Segel, Frank Costello, Lucky Luciano, as well as the legendary Al Capone. And you can indulge in a delicious meal at this iconic bar just like these gangsters did.
Have you ever been to the Ohio Club before? If so, tell us about your experience below. Be sure to visit the website and Facebook page for a full list of menu items as well as for hours of operation.
If you’re searching for more iconic eateries, here’s a legendary restaurant in Arkansas that has entertained lots of celebrities for decades.
