The Ozone Burger Barn may be tiny shack in the middle of nowhere but it's also an iconic Arkansas eatery. Recently, the new year brought new owners to the beloved Ozone Burger Barn. This beloved barn has returned to its roots and we couldn't be happier. Let's enjoy the scenic drive and fill up on these impossibly tasty burgers.
You may have noticed the Ozone Burger Barn was closed at the beginning of this year.
Many regulars agree that things were never quite the same after Tom Camardese passed away last summer. He ran the establishment for nearly two decades and perfected the Barn's deliciously diverse menu. His Arkansas family that adopted him shortly after he moved to the Ozarks have recently taken over the Barn.
The new owner is looking forward to returning the Barn to its original roots.
New owner, Tracy Carey, and her friends are excited to revitalize the family tradition. The full menu with some new specialties (like a mouthwatering Ginger-Garlic Chicken Burrito with grilled veggies) is being brought back.
The first thing to return to the fryer are the beloved big burgers.
The Barn has always been known for its "3 napkin burgers" but Tracy assured us the big burgers will be even better and worthy of five napkins.
From the beginning Tracy has made it clear this is more about the burgers though.
She spoke candidly about her vision for the Barn, "It's not about the money, it's about the tradition. It’s about the community and hikers being taken care of. This is my homeland." Although the shack hasn't even been open two weeks yet, the impact has already been felt. Locals can be assured the affordable family combos will always be on the menu; and, because of the government shut down, Tracy has been permitting hikers to camp behind the shack. If you're sticking around the area for a while you can even take Tracy's horseback riding lessons just across the way.
Bikers, hikers, tourists, or just folks wanting a tasty burger can all rejoice in the newly reopened Ozone Burger Barn.
The little barn is located at 14433, 14499 AR-21, Ozone, AR 72854. They're now open 7 days a week from 11 am - 7 pm. Cards will eventually be accepted but for now plan on bringing cash. For more information you can call 479-292-1392.
