There's no doubt that the state is filled with spectacular lakes, we're even home to one of the clearest lakes in the nation. However, Blue Mountain Lake is a dazzling gem you may have visited yet. The sparkly bluest of blue waters will make you feel like you're dreaming.
If you're looking out from the lodge at Mt. Magazine State Park you may have noticed a blue gem in the valley.
That happens to be Blue Mountain Lake, and it's closer to Mount Magazine than it seems. It's definitely worth the detour after you've explored Mt. Magazine.
Address: 10152 Outlet Park Road, Havana, AR 72842
The lake was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1947 but don't be expecting a drab concrete experience.
The construction did make the lake easily accessible for a host of activities. The area has modern campsites with hook-ups and hot showers, boat ramps, and even fish cleaning stations. The lake is also popular for water skiing and bass fishing.
The bluest of blue water is what makes this mountain lake such an enchanting experience.
In addition to the beautiful water, just the location seems too good to be true. Blue Mountain Lake is perfectly located between our two national forests and next to perhaps the most beloved state park in Arkansas.
Although it seems like a far off dream, Blue Mountain Lake a true treasure.
Make these pictures a dream come true by planning a trip to the lake!
