What's better than wine? Wine with llamas, of course. Not only does Bruzzi Vineyard in Young boast some of the best vino in the state, but it's also home to the fluffiest, most adorable llamas you've ever seen. A somewhat strange combo, but it works.
Nestled in the foothills of Mogollon Rim, Bruzzi Vineyard is the first-ever winery in Gila County.
As far as the eye can see, grapevines and other crops flourish in the lush northern Arizona landscape.
Many of the wines are made in-house, and the robust depth of flavor is second to none.
The tasting room is open from noon until 6 p.m. on weekends, and it has an espresso bar, too!
From bold reds to the renowned Vidal Blanc, there's something for everyone.
Enjoy your glass with a home-cooked meal from the onsite restaurant -- the vineyard even holds formal dinners for the summer & winter solstices, among other occasions.
As if the incredible wine wasn't enough, Bruzzi Vineyards has another trick up its sleeve: llamas.
Two lovely girls, Abigail and Neffi, are available for meet-and-greets from 9 a.m. until noon on weekends.
Two different packages are available, the first including 30 minutes of feeding, grooming, walking, and pictures.
The deluxe experience also features coffee and cookies.
Pricing varies depending on age and which package you decide on, so check the vineyard's website for details.
Reservations are required for llama meet-and-great experiences.
The vineyard also has a self-service farm stand with seasonal, organic produce, fresh milk & eggs, raw honey, and other local products.
It's open seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and operates on an honor system.
Although the vineyard is currently closed, its farm stand is still open! Visit the restaurant's website or Facebook page for updates.
