Every year right around Thanksgiving, Desert Botanical Garden is set ablaze with a holiday tradition unique to Arizona. Las Noches de Las Luminarias is the event of the season, and you definitely can't miss it.
More than 8,000 luminarias and thousands of traditional Christmas lights cast an ethereal glow over the entire garden. With each successive step, you'll be summoned increasingly deeper into the holiday magic.
Festive tunes add a lively, playful element to the experience. Nothing gets you into the holiday spirit quite like sounds of the season playing for all to hear.
Just follow the lights that guide you to the finish line - or the exit, we should say. We desert rats are used to trail markings, but they take on a whole new meaning here.
Several trees make the perfect backdrop for a family photo. Perfectly ornamented with lights strung from tip to trunk, these iconic symbols of Christmas are absolutely grand to behold.
Saguaros are already majestic enough, and the lanterns only serve to enhance that essence. Though certainly not traditional holiday decor, it wouldn't be Christmas in Arizona without our sacred desert guardians.
You can even sponsor a luminaria to honor someone special or commemorate an occasion. Add a personal message that'll be illuminated for all to see when the sun goes down.
