Looking to spend some time away from home this weekend? If you’re looking to avoid huge crowds while enjoying nature’s beauty, some history, and amazing food, then I have just the place for you!
With a population of just 7,500, Globe is an unexpected travel destination that will provide a relaxing atmosphere along with all the above mentioned visiting opportunities. Read on for more details about what you can do and see while here for a weekend.
First, there’s the scenic drive you’ll likely take when traveling to Globe. Traveling along Apache Trail is gorgeous and a bit of a white-knuckle experience but a drive along the 60 is just as pretty.
Want to do a bit of shopping? Check out the Pickle Barrel Trading Post, which sits in an old mining warehouse and is the perfect place to find yard art, souvenirs, and regional arts and crafts.
Check out Ice House Trail, Six Shooter Trail #197, or the trails at Round Mountain Park.
Spend the night at Noftsger Hill Inn, a school turned hotel that is both historic and comfortable. It has roomy accommodations and the rumor of a few resident ghosts as well.
The dining options here are numerous for a town this size! For example, there’s a few favorite Mexican restaurants, like Guayo’s On The Trail and Chalo’s Casa Reynoso.
